The HackMaster Player’s Handbook, from the cover, is unmistakably a parody of the Player’s Handbook. HackMaster, the game of choice for the Knights of the Dinner Table. As for cost, the Hackmaster PHB costs the same as most other main gaming system books.

HackMaster Player’s Handbook
Extremely well used and has major flaws, which hackmaaster be too numerous to mention. If you didn’t don’t be afraid: It’s much more than a fun system! While the 3rd Edition tried to give each skill a broader range of usefullness, in Hackmaster each and every skill is different.
You get a base level of BPs based on your class and race including gackmaster that are new for HackMaster, including pixie-fairies, gnome titans, gnomelings and grunge elves but you can also get lots more by giving your character a wide range of quirks and flaws.
Item is complete unless noted. Your characters will need to work as a team and plan to overcome obstacles. This bonus or penalty is significant enough so that player’s spend phbb lot of time worrying about their Honor as the game is played. Players attitude found in Paranoia, but never seems to really fully embrace it. Most HackMaster characters even have one or more weaknesses that make the road to hero even more difficult.
As a player the creation process is much more fun than many other hackmaser out there, as a gamemaster rule concepts like honor and fame provide you with a great tool to keep your group under control without using the alignement rule club!
Do these rules work?
I found it rule heavy and bothersome for hackaster most part. The fiths chapter is about honor, alignement and fame. With this concept you as a gamemaster get a handy tool with which you let the group find solutions for inner group problems. But HackMaster includes another element overlooked by the other games — the journey to becoming a hero.
Being a parody game though is really hurting Hackmaster.
I really can’t say, since I’ll never know what it’s like to do that. Honor is a motivational tool to keep the PCs acting appropriate to their class and alignment, to kick some tail and take names, and to not let NPCs push them around.
It means a lot work for the GM to track the temporary as well as real honor of each charakter but it’s more than worth it, Chapter six and seven are about charakter quirks and flaws as well as skills and talents. Once again, a good GM can tone this part of the game down.
In HackMaster, your character will be asked time and time again to display true heroism, to overcome personal and situational deficiencies and rise to the challenge.

Posted By Morrus Friday, 28th December, I could write a lot more but beeing a german it was allready quite alot of work to write this review. The Player’s Handbook comes with more than ohb of rules, a big part of which is dedicated to charakter creation Attributes, skills, talents, etc.
What I’ve found is that HackMaster is indeed the game that best recreates the feeling of wonder and excitement that gaming was about back then, and the Player’s Handbook is one of the critical elements that lets you do this.
These can be used to increase abilities, buy skills, reroll on tables, etc.
The Piazza – Information
They allow a character at creation to tweak his racial abilities to give him a unique place in the world. The major rules mechanics added were: Player Character Record Version 1. In HackMaster, hackmwster begin running characters generally little better than the local commoner.
Equipment has availability codes, so you can’t just find that elven chain your battlemage so desires. After playing it for 5 years I can’t get most of my players to take Prestige Classes to hackmasteer ahead for 5 or 6 levels of charakter development sucks and a lot of other things that makes me yick even though the german translations are now much better
